Trento
boasts a long tradition of farming and, in particular, wine-growing, and from the town you can set
out on a tour to discover a range of typical dishes made from appetising home-grown
ingredients. In town and in the immediate surroundings there are wine ries, which offer
guided tours and wine-tasting, farms (fruit, soft fruit and honey) and
"agriturs", restaurants serving traditional dishes such as polenta and spinach
gnocchi. Then, in just a few minutes by car from Trento, are the famous vineyards of the
Piana Rotaliana plain, the apple orchards of the Val di Non (spectacular in spring for
their blossom) and many small farming villages with agriturs. |
