Venice

VeniceVenice rose on a little ground, among water and other water, it became populated of different "Venetici" and became Serenissima, independent dukedom of noble merchants. It lasted a thousand years surviving to the adversities of history, it bloomed, it became rich and feared. It had the gold, the art and countless enemies. Venice was vessels, courses to cross and defend. It was commerce with Turkish and Syrians, with English and Germans; it was delicate diplomacy. It was, in the good and in the evil, an astute and opportunist people. And civilization when all around there was the dark of the barbarity.
Today Venice is a great deal different, yet still vital. Tourist city and cultural capital, common place, postcard to send, legend to pursue among a trip in gondola, a concert in a church, a show of art and palaces. But you just need to get on a bell tower to find again the Venice of every time, a changeless sea of red roofs from which emerge, like a lagoon white stone island, the symbols of the power of always: palaces and churches.

Venice is easy to reach by road or taking the Valsugana railway line which runs from Trento to Venice.
